According to a report from the Arakan Army (AA), an airstrike carried out by the Myanmar junta in Mrauk-U Township claimed the lives of 28 individuals, including 21 women.
In the final phase of Arakan War, the junta launched airstrikes using fighter jets and dropped 500-pound bombs on a location where the Arakan Army (AA) was detaining captives and junta soldiers’ family members. The attack occurred around 4 a.m. on January 18.
The deliberate airstrike resulted in the deaths of 21 women and injuries to 17 others. Additionally, seven men were killed, with eight wounded, while nine children lost their lives and 11 others sustained injuries.
Among the casualties and injured, there were 43 Rakhine individuals, 8 Burmese, 1 Kayah, and 1 Karen, according to reports.
The Arakan Army (AA) reported that on September 8 last year, the junta carried out an airstrike on a clinic in Shin Ywa Village, Pauktaw Township, which was under AA control. The attack resulted in 17 fatalities and injuries to 10 others.
The Arakan Army (AA) stated that on September 9 last year, junta launched an airstrike on the No. 2 Border Guard Police Battalion in the Four-Mile Ward of Maungdaw Township, an area under AA control. The attack resulted in the deaths of over 50 detainees and left many others injured.
