The Arakan Army (AA) confirmed today, August 11, that the Arakan People’s Health Department under the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government will open a midwifery training school.

This was announced during the 10th press conference of the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA).

It is said that those who wish to attend the training can contact the administrative and health departments of the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government within this month for more information.

“Wd are recruiting new health workers and striving to improve the operation of public health sectors. Nursing and public health training courses have already been established, and now a midwifery training school will also be opened,” said Khine Thu Kha, spokesperson for the Arakan Army.

The Arakan People’s Health Department under the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government is currently training Public Health Supervisors Batch No. 2. After completing their training, they will be assigned to needed areas to fulfill their duties.

In this training, seventeen teachers are instructing around one hundred trainees in six subjects.

It is said that the doctors and health workers involved in providing public health services in Arakan are recognized and valued.

In addition, more professionals and health workers have been invited to take up responsibilities and serve.

The Arakan People’s Health Department announced on July 11 that it is working to provide timely public health services and is offering as many health-related training courses as possible to reach every Arakanese community.

Although the Arakan People’s Health Department is facing a shortage of human resources, it is working together with local medical staff within Arakan as well as volunteer workers who have arrived from abroad.

Since there is still a need for medical personnel, the Arakan People’s Health Department is inviting healthcare workers of all ethnicities to serve in its ranks.
