The Office of the High Representative for the Rohingya Issue, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is set to host a three-day “Stakeholders’ Dialogue” on the Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazar from 24–26 August 2025.
The dialogue, titled “Stakeholders’ Dialogue: Takeaway to the High-Level Conference on the Rohingya Situation,” is being organized as a preparatory event ahead of the High-Level Conference on the Rohingya Crisis scheduled for 30 September in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Hon’ble Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will attend the event as Chief Guest on 25 August.
The gathering will bring together national and international experts, diplomats, Rohingya representatives, international organizations, and academicians. Discussions will focus on challenges and potential solutions to the crisis, while amplifying the voices of Rohingya men, women, and youth to ensure their perspectives and aspirations are heard by the international community.
The dialogue will cover a wide range of issues including humanitarian assistance, funding gaps in the camps, recent developments in Rakhine State, prospects for dignified repatriation, accountability for atrocities, and a sustainable long-term solution. Five thematic sessions are planned, focusing on humanitarian aid, confidence-building for repatriation, justice and accountability, and pathways toward a time-bound and actionable resolution of the crisis.
Participants will also visit the Rohingya camps on 26 August to gain firsthand insights into the situation on the ground.
Organizers said the event is expected to generate concrete recommendations that will be carried forward to the High-Level Conference in New York next month.
