Aftermath of Junta Airstrike on Mrauk-U Town

On the night of August 25, a junta airstrike on Mrauk-U, a town controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), killed 12 civilians and left 20 others injured.

On the night of August 25, shortly after 11 PM, junta forces carried out an aerial bombardment using 500‑lb bombs on the Daingkyi Ward, Aung Tat group, of Mrauk-U town.

The bombs exploded near an agricultural warehouse in Daingkyi Ward, killing and injuring nearby civilians.

Among the victims were children, women, and the elderly, with several sustaining serious injuries.

In addition, many homes were completely destroyed, and the explosions even created large pits, with some entire families killed.

The junta forces continue to conduct daily aerial attacks including with airplanes, drones, and airstrikes on territories controlled by the Arakan Army.

The junta forces have been deliberately targeting civilian areas with daily aerial attacks, resulting in deaths and injuries among the local population.
