Residents report that one more injured person died after the Myanmar junta’s airstrike targeted Dine Kyi Ward in Maungdaw, controlled by the Arakan Army, on the night of August 25.
The military junta’s forces launched an airstrike on Dine Kyi Ward at around 11 p.m. on August 25 using two 500-pound bombs, killing 12 civilians and injuring many others. Among those receiving emergency medical treatment, one more woman has died.
A 30-year-old woman, Daw Khin Aye Yi, from Dine Kyi Ward in Maungdaw, sustained a severe head injury during the airstrike and was receiving emergency medical treatment.
After nearly two weeks of receiving medical treatment, she died at around 2 p.m. today, September 6.
The injured victims were receiving emergency medical treatment, and on August 26, a 7-year-old child and a 32-year-old woman also died.
The Myanmar junta conducts daily surveillance over Arakan Army-controlled areas using drones and aircraft.
In addition, frequent attacks involving drones, heavy weapons, warships, and fighter jets have caused civilian deaths and injuries.
As a result, civilians are being deliberately targeted, and people are calling on the international community to provide protection.
