Brutal Junta Airstrike in Paletwa Kills Two Women, Injures 19

In Paletwa town, which is under the control of the Arakan Army, two women were killed and 19 others injured when the Myanmar junta carried out an airstrike.

Among those killed were 19-year-old Ma Mya Mya Khin and 40-year-old Daw Thuzar Win, also known as Boat Boat.

In addition, up to 10 more people were injured and are receiving emergency medical treatment, with some reportedly in critical condition.

“Those who were injured are in serious condition. Two of them died instantly from their severe injuries,” a resident of Paletwa told Border News Agency.

On September 29, around 12:00 PM, the Myanmar junta carried out an airstrike on Paletwa town, which is under the control of the Arakan Army, dropping 500-pound bombs three times.

As a result of the attack, explosions hit the hospital, buildings, and areas within the town, killing two women and injuring 19 others.

On September 28, the junta reportedly carried out an airstrike near Pade-Kaw village along the road connecting Thandwe, while large naval vessels also fired heavy weapons near the coast close to Thandwe.

The night before, on September 27, the junta launched another airstrike on Thandwe town, killing one civilian and injuring six others.

In addition, on September 26, the Myanmar junta carried out an airstrike on the Tat Oo Monastery in the Kanpaing Ward of Taunggoke town, causing the monastery building to be destroyed.

The Myanmar junta has been carrying out daily airstrikes on areas controlled by the Arakan Army, causing civilian deaths and injuries.

The regime’s military commission has also announced plans to hold upcoming elections in Thandwe, Taunggoke, Ann, and Gwa townships, while continuing to conduct successive airstrikes in these areas.
