The trade routes between the Arakha region and the Mara region have been reopened, according to a statement issued by the central headquarters of the Mara Tribal People’s Organization (MTP).

The routes were reopened starting at 4 p.m. on September 24 after being temporarily closed since September 16. The routes connect the Arakha and Mara regions through the villages of Khai Khy, Lômasu, and Lôdaw.

The decision to reopen the trade routes was made following a meeting of the MTP Central Executive Committee.

Before the routes were reopened, a meeting was held at 6:30 a.m. on September 24 at the MTP headquarters in Saiha, Mizoram. The MTP delegation was led by its chairman, Pu S. Vabeihasa, while the ULA/AA delegation was led by border relations officer Pu Chonai and district administrator Pu Nan Zing.

During the meeting, the two sides expressed their condolences regarding the incident in Khai Khy Village on September 14. They also discussed ways to further strengthen friendship, mutual understanding, and cooperation between the Arakha and Mara communities.
