Pauktaw, October 2
Two people were injured when the Myanmar military carried out an airstrike on Aung Phyu Pyin Village, Pauktaw Township, an area controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), at around 12:51 a.m. on October 1.
The bomb hit and exploded at a car repair workshop between the road and railway line near Aung Phyu Pyin Railway Station. Two people were injured in the attack.
The injured people were 32-year-old Maung Kyaw Moe Lwin and 42-year-old Daw Khin May Soe, both of whom were displaced people staying in Aung Phyu Pyin Village.
Maung Kyaw Moe Lwin suffered injuries to both lower legs below the knees. Daw Khin May Soe was injured by shrapnel in her right forearm.
The airstrike also damaged several vehicles, including a SURF, a Crown, a Hijet, and a Daba truck, as well as two houses belonging to U Hla Moe.
In another incident, at around 6:30 a.m. on October 2, the Myanmar military carried out an airstrike on Tan Bak Hlan Village in Pauktaw Township. A bomb landed and exploded between the houses of U Shwe Thein and U Htun Thein, damaging several homes.
Earlier, at around 9:00 p.m. on September 30, two Myanmar military fighter jets also carried out an airstrike on an area near Kyauk Seik Village in Pauktaw Township, where displaced people were staying.
As a result of that attack, four-year-old Maung Nay Kyaw Lin and 26-year-old Ma Khin Khin Than, both displaced from Pauktaw town, were injured.
Maung Nay Kyaw Lin suffered cuts from broken glass in his left leg, while Ma Khin Khin Than also sustained injuries.
