Hindu residents in Maungdaw are facing a shortage of healthcare services due to widespread skin diseases, according to members of the community.
Many of those affected are children, and since most residents lack job opportunities, they have no income to afford medical treatment or buy medicine. This has created financial difficulties in accessing proper healthcare, they said.
The Arakan Army (AA) has fully taken control of Maungdaw Township, and while the Arakan People’s Health Department is providing healthcare services, residents claim they are still not receiving adequate medical care.
