The Arakan Public Health Department announced today, July 11, that it has been providing health training courses to implement public healthcare activities on the ground.

Public Health Supervisor Training Course No. 2 was launched earlier this July, with over 100 trainees expected to undergo eight months of training.

It is reported that a total of 17 instructors are teaching subjects such as basic anatomy, microbiology, pharmacology, environmental health, general pathology, infectious diseases, public health, primary healthcare, and basic obstetrics.

Upon completion of the training, the graduates will be assigned to work in rural health departments as Public Health Supervisors Level 2, along with receiving their training certificates.

They will be responsible for activities such as preventing and controlling highly contagious and communicable diseases, managing public health emergencies and disaster situations, eradicating epidemic diseases, preventing and treating non-communicable diseases, as well as carrying out environmental and occupational health tasks and public health education programs.

In addition, they will also be responsible for collecting and compiling health-related records and data, monitoring the health and development of mothers, newborns, and children under five, conducting reproductive health programs, implementing nutrition development programs, carrying out immunization campaigns, and serving in rural health departments.

It is said that the program aims to create educational and employment opportunities for youth and young adults in the Arakan region.

In addition, more health-related training courses are expected to be launched in the future.

Although the health department is in need of human resources, medical personnel from within Arakan as well as volunteers from abroad are collaborating to support its efforts.

Due to the need for healthcare workers, people are invited to serve in the Arakan Public Health Department regardless of ethnicity, language, or religion.
