The Bamar Army announced today, September 5, that it stands in support of the Arakan Army (AA) regarding the Muslim issue.

The London-based Myanmar Muslim group, BROUK, has sent a letter to an Argentine court on September 3, requesting arrest warrants for the Arakan Army (AA) Commander-in-Chief, General Twan Mrat Naing, Deputy Commander-in-Chief Dr. Nyo Twan Awng, and those who allegedly gave them orders. The request accuses them of committing acts of genocide against Muslims in Arakan State.

It is learned that the Arakan Army (AA) has already clarified these accusations to the public and human rights organizations with supporting evidence and witnesses. The Bamar Army has strongly condemned the move by the overseas organization, BROUK, to seek arrest warrants for the AA leaders at an Argentine court, stating that it firmly stands in support of the Arakan Army on this matter.

According to local media reports and residents, in areas under the control of the Arakan People’s Government, communities of different ethnicities and religions including the Muslim community living alongside others are being treated with compassion and provided with assistance and protection to the best extent possible.

It is also reported that, regarding the incident in Than Shauk Khan Village, Buthidaung Township, the Arakan Army has publicly clarified through the media, along with witness testimonies, that there was no mass killing of local civilians.

The Arakan Army (AA) has established full control over fifteen townships, including Paletwa Township, and is implementing administrative mechanisms under the governance of the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government.

The AA also controls the borders between Arakan and India, Arakan and Bangladesh, as well as the boundary areas between Arakan and Magway, Arakan and Bago, and Arakan and Ayeyarwady. In addition, the AA is providing military support and cooperating with other revolutionary armed groups involved in the Spring Revolution.
