In Ann Township, a father was arrested by the Department of Law Enforcement and Public Security (DLEPS) under the Arakan People’s Authority for raping his own biological daughter for six consecutive years.

In Kywe Koo Seik Village, Rakha Tein Taik Group, Ann Township, an 18-year-old woman was raped by her 38-year-old father, U Nyi Hla, starting when his daughter was 12 years old.

During her clinic visit, she was carrying a two-month pregnancy resulting from her father. The mother reported the case to the police on September 6, and the perpetrator is currently under arrest and investigation.

In Kyauktaw Township, a 25-year-old man who brutally assaulted four women was sentenced by the Mrauk-U District Court of the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government on September 1 to 40 years in prison with hard labor.

However, the people of Rakhine say that in areas controlled by the Arakan Army, brutal acts including violence against young people frequently occur.

The public criticized that arrests and punishments for these cases were rare, and they say that the Arakan Army has now started taking action to arrest and punish offenders. However, many cases have still not been addressed, so the people are calling for swift arrests and punishments.
