Cox’s Bazar, September 27.
Rohingya refugees in camps in Bangladesh have accused the Arakan Army (AA) of committing ethnic cleansing.
Today, September 27, they gathered in the refugee camps to welcome and show support for the ongoing UN General Assembly, urging that a resolution be made on behalf of the Rohingya refugees.
In those petitions submitted by the refugees, they accused the Arakan Army of committing ethnic cleansing and even portrayed it as a Nazi-like force.
Those refugees had also verbally attacked and insulted the leaders of the Arakan Army (AA), including its Commander-in-Chief, General Twan Mrat Naing, on August 25.
In addition, they have verbally attacked and insulted State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, former President U Win Myint, and the acting president of the National Unity Government (NUG).
Moreover, Rohingya children in the refugee camps are frequently being indoctrinated with ethnic and religious hatred and are encouraged to insult local leaders.
International observers have criticized that extremist groups in the refugee camps are organizing to carry out acts of violence, yet Bangladeshi authorities have taken no action against them.
