One woman was killed and three people were injured after the Myanmar military junta carried out air and naval attacks on Thandwe town and Gwa Township, according to a statement released by the Arakan Army (AA) on September 8.
The junta deliberately carried out an airstrike on Ward No. 8 of Thandwe town on the morning of September 7.
The attack killed an 83-year-old woman and injured three other people. Eight civilian homes were also damaged, according to the AA.
The AA also said that junta warships anchored offshore fired heavy weapons along the coastal areas of Gwa and Thandwe.
In addition, junta aircraft carried out further airstrikes on Kyaukgyi and Sapagy villages in Thandwe Township on the afternoon of September 7. Eight houses were reportedly damaged.
The junta also carried out an airstrike on Phet Kya Village in Ponnagyun Township, damaging four civilian homes.
