Two Killed in Myanmar Military Airstrikes on Rathedaung

Two people were killed and more than ten others were injured when the Myanmar military carried out airstrikes on urban wards and villages in Rathedaung Township, which is controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), early on October 3.

At around 1:30 a.m. on October 3, the Myanmar military attacked Taung Yin Tan Ward, Southeast Ward, areas along the riverfront road, and the villages of Pyar Chaung Gyi and Pyin Khaung in Rathedaung Township. The attack was carried out by a Y-12 aircraft, which dropped six bombs.

As a result of the attack, two people were killed: 15-year-old Moe Moe Nwe, the daughter of U Maung Kyaw Kyaw Wai from Chwat Pyin Village, and 70-year-old U Aung Kyaw from Pyar Chaung Gyi Village.
Other people, including 13-year-old Myo Myat Khaing and 31-year-old Myo Wai Lin, were also injured, but the exact number of injured people has not yet been confirmed.

The Myanmar military also carried out another attack on Angu Maw Village in Rathedaung Township. As a result, 24-year-old Khin Hmone Yar Swe, 45-year-old Phyu Thi, and 45-year-old Thein Hla were injured.

Border News Agency reports that the Myanmar military has continued to deliberately target towns controlled by the Arakan Army and commit war crimes because it is suffering heavy losses in ground fighting.
