Three Injured in Myanmar Military Airstrike on Angu Maw, Rathedaung Township

Three people were injured when the Myanmar military carried out an airstrike on Angu Maw in Rathedaung Township, which is controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), at around 11 p.m. on October 2, according to local residents.

The three injured people were members of the same family: U Phyu Thi, his wife Daw Thein Hla, and their daughter Ma San Win. They are originally from Angu Maw Village in Rathedaung Township.

The family had been staying in Thayet Chaung Village, near Laung Chaung Village in Rathedaung Township, after fleeing their home because of the conflict, according to local residents.

In addition, the Myanmar military carried out airstrikes on wards in Rathedaung town and some nearby villages at around 1 a.m. on October 3. Two people were killed and 12 others were injured, according to Rathedaung residents.

The airstrikes hit several areas in Rathedaung town, including the riverfront road, the Agriculture Office, and Basic Education High School No. 2.

The military also carried out airstrikes on Pyar Chaung Gyi Village and Pyin Khaung Village near the town, according to local residents.

As a result of the attacks, 15-year-old Moe Moe Nwe, daughter of U Maung Kyaw Kyaw Wai from Chut Pyin Village, and 70-year-old U Aung Kyaw from Pyar Chaung Gyi Village were killed.

Twelve people were also injured, including 13-year-old Myo Myat Khaing and 31-year-old Myo Wai Lin, according to Rathedaung residents.
