A woman who was seriously injured in an airstrike by the Myanmar military on Kyauktaw, a town controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), has died while receiving medical treatment.
The woman was Daw Shwe Yi, 55, from Pyitawthar Ward in Kyauktaw. She died at around 11:00 p.m. on September 30 after suffering a serious injury to her abdomen caused by bomb fragments.
On September 25, around midnight, the Myanmar military carried out an airstrike on Kyauktaw and nearby villages. Seven civilians, including a child under 10 years old, were injured in the attack.
On September 28, the Myanmar military carried out an airstrike on Indian Market and the Kassapanadi Bridge in Kyauktaw. The attack killed 50 civilians and injured 57 others.
Border News Agency reports that the Myanmar military has been deliberately targeting towns controlled by the Arakan Army and repeatedly committing war crimes, following heavy losses in ground fighting.
