A total of 741 complaints were submitted to the Justice for Arakan Telegram Channel, which was established to directly listen to the voices of the Arakanese people, between January 2021 and the end of August 2026, according to the United League of Arakan (ULA).
The statement was made by Ma Mya Zan Wai, Deputy Director of the Office of the Permanent Secretariat of the United League of Arakan (ULA).
The complaints were initially handled and resolved by the Military Headquarters and the Office of the Permanent Secretariat. Later, cases that emerged were systematically transferred to the relevant departments, including the judiciary, land management, and the Department of Law Enforcement and Administration Procedures (DELAP), for further action, according to the ULA.
When complaints are received through Justice for Arakan, legal officers are assigned to provide legal advice on land, judicial, and other matters. In cases requiring further investigation, commissions are also formed to conduct field inquiries and investigations, according to the ULA.
However, Ma Mya Zan Wai clarified that Justice for Arakan is not a department that interferes in the jurisdiction of government offices or makes final decisions on the outcomes of cases. Rather, it is a platform that reviews and corrects whether departmental procedures have been properly followed.
The Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government is working to reform and develop its administrative, judicial, and legal systems based on complaints submitted by the public, according to the ULA.
