Thandwe, September 8
One woman was killed and three others were injured when Myanmar junta forces carried out an airstrike on Thandwe, a town controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), on the morning of September 7.
The airstrike targeted the area near the junction of An Taw Pagoda Road at 1st Street and 3rd Street, near the 9 Stars liquor shop in Ward No. (8/B), at around 10 a.m. today.
As a result of the attack, 77-year-old Daw Than Kyaung was killed.
Three others were injured: 70-year-old Daw Aye Aye Kyaung, 28-year-old Moe Moe Myint Aung, and 28-year-old Yan Naung Htet.
Six residential houses and two shops were also damaged in the attack.
The Arakan Army (AA) also reported that junta forces carried out an airstrike on Ponnagyun Township today between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
The junta has been carrying out airstrikes and artillery attacks on civilian-populated areas in territories controlled by the Arakan Army, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries.
The Arakan Army has again warned civilians to remain alert to the risks of air and naval attacks by junta forces.
