A dispute reportedly broke out on September 14 between Rakhine boat operators and local authorities over the transportation of goods at a border checkpoint run by the Mara Youth Association in Khaikhy Village, Siaha District, Mizoram State, along the India–Myanmar border, according to local reports.

The MTP Central Headquarters held an emergency meeting on the morning of September 14 to discuss the dispute between the Khaikhy Branch and Rakhine boat operators.

During the meeting, MTP officials reviewed the situation and expressed regret over the dispute. They said that the MTP Central Headquarters would continue to take the necessary steps to resolve the problem.

The meeting also decided that the MTP Sub-Headquarters in Phura, which is responsible for the area where the incident occurred, would visit the location, investigate the situation, and take appropriate action if necessary.

MTP also called on its leaders, village council members, and social media users not to argue or make unverified claims about the incident online.

MTP said it would provide assistance and protection to people facing difficulties along the route. It also said that it was ready to provide further support if needed.

The public was urged to rely only on official statements from the MTP Central Headquarters or information obtained through official inquiries regarding the incident. MTP also asked people not to believe or share false or unverified information.
