A Khami man from Ponnagyun Township in the Arakha region, who had traveled to Thailand for work, reportedly died suddenly while sleeping in the early hours of September 15, according to his friends and fellow workers in Thailand.
U Kyaw Zaw, 39, from Marit Chaung Village in Ponnagyun Township, reportedly died suddenly at around 3 a.m. today while he was asleep.
Thai police responsible for the area reportedly came to the scene and conducted an investigation into the incident. Members of the Khami community in Thailand are providing assistance with funeral arrangements, according to the sources.
His friends said that U Kyaw Zaw had actively participated in and contributed to national affairs concerning the Khami people in Thailand, making efforts and personal sacrifices to support the community to the best of his ability.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter who is just over one year old, according to the sources.
