A displaced woman was killed when the Myanmar military attacked Kyaukseik Village in Ponnagyun Township, an area controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), with a drone.
At around 2:00 a.m. on September 11, the Myanmar military reportedly attacked Kyaukseik Village using an FPV suicide drone.
As a result of the attack, 63-year-old Daw Hla Than Yi, who had been displaced from Thawing Chaung Village in Wirathani Township and was staying in Kyaukseik Village, was killed.
The Phyu Sin Yin Khwin Foundation, based in Ponnagyun, helped transport the victim’s body.
The Myanmar military has been deliberately attacking areas where civilians live using air and naval forces. The Phyu Sin Yin Khwin Foundation has strongly condemned the Myanmar military’s actions in connection with this incident.
The Myanmar military has also been carrying out deliberate airstrikes and artillery attacks on civilian areas in territories controlled by the Arakan Army, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries.
The Arakan Army has again warned civilians to remain alert to the dangers of air and naval attacks by the Myanmar military.
