Anjanapura, September 28
Eight civilians, including two children, were injured when the military junta carried out an airstrike on Son Yay Village in Aizanapura Township, which is under the control of the Arakan Army (AA), at around 7 a.m. on September 28.
The injured were identified as Daw Ma Ma Aye, 43; U Maung Oo Phyu, 70; Ma Pyone Pyone, 22; Maung Aye Kyaw Moe, 29; Maung Kyaw Win, 28; and Ma Aye Win Thein, 45, all from Son Yay Village.
Two children, Maung Phyo Wai Lin, 13, and Maung Zaw Myo Oo, 16, were also injured.
Among the injured, Daw Ma Ma Aye sustained shrapnel wounds near the right side of her neck, while Maung Zaw Myo Oo suffered a serious injury to his calf. Both are currently receiving medical treatment.
An airstrike by the military junta on Aizanapura town on September 27 also injured a civilian.
The Arakan Army has warned civilians to remain particularly alert to the risk of airstrikes, alleging that the military junta has been deliberately targeting civilians amid its military setbacks.
