The Arakan government buried 22 of the 50 people who were killed in an airstrike on Kyauktaw carried out by the Myanmar military.
On September 28, the Myanmar military reportedly attacked the area near India Market and the Kachapana Di Bridge with two 500-pound bombs.
The attack killed 50 people, including market vendors, loading and unloading workers, and people who were passing through the area. Another 57 people were injured.
Some of the bodies buried by the Arakan government were unidentified. Some bodies had been badly burned in the attack, making it impossible to identify the victims.
