A civilian was killed in an airstrike carried out by Myanmar’s military junta on Kalar Chaung Village in Ponnagyun Township, which is under the control of the Arakkha Army (AA), on September 20.
The victim was identified as 55-year-old U Saw Thein, a resident of Kalar Chaung Village.
At around 3:30 p.m. on September 20, the junta military deliberately targeted the village with two 500-pound bombs.
The airstrike killed U Saw Thein and destroyed his home, along with numerous other houses in the village.
Fierce clashes between the Arakkha Army and the junta military have been ongoing in Ponnagyun Township since September 4.
As a result, civilians in townships controlled by the Arakkha Army continue to be killed and injured as the junta military reportedly carries out daily airstrikes and artillery attacks targeting civilian-populated areas.
