The United League of Arakan (ULA) has strongly condemned what it described as deliberate airstrikes by the Myanmar military targeting schools, hospitals, markets, residential neighborhoods, and villages, and said that those responsible would face an effective response.
At around 12 p.m. on September 28, the Myanmar military carried out an airstrike using 500-pound bombs on the area around India Market and the Gacchapnadi Bridge in Kyauktaw, killing 49 civilians and injuring 58 others, according to the ULA.
In addition, nine civilians were injured in Myanmar military airstrikes on Anjanapura, Thandwe, and Ngapali.
The ULA said that the Myanmar military, which it described as suffering setbacks on multiple fronts, has been carrying out daily attacks targeting civilians and residential buildings, which it characterized as war crimes.
The ULA/AA also stated that it has been documenting the names and roles of commanders, individuals involved, and associated organizations in connection with the airstrikes, and that it will take what it described as appropriate responses in due course.
